From prediction to work order: how VOS™ closes the maintenance loop

Predictive maintenance is often sold as a dashboard problem. It is a workflow problem. A brake-pad heat anomaly detected at kilometre 200 of a 400 km shift does not become a repair unless something turns it into a work order, assigns it to a mechanic, reserves the parts, and slots the vehicle out of service on a day the operator can afford to lose it.

Intellitech VOS™ closes that loop end-to-end. When the maintenance agent detects a component trending toward failure (front brake pads on PU-08, thermal pattern anomaly, ETA 18 ± 4 days), it does five things without a human in the loop: opens a work order in the warehouse module, attaches the diagnostic evidence and photos, reserves the required parts from the correct depot, checks the vehicle roster for the next slot with no assigned trip, and books the intervention on the shop calendar.

What the operations manager sees is a single scheduled event on the shop calendar with a work order attached, not a dashboard tile with a red dot. If parts are missing at the closest depot, VOS™ escalates to purchasing before the failure window opens. If the vehicle has a trip on the proposed slot, VOS™ suggests either reassigning the trip or moving the intervention to the next viable slot — with the cost of each option calculated up front.

The interesting number is not the accuracy of the underlying prediction. It is the ratio of predictions that turn into completed work orders inside the failure window. Legacy setups run at 20-30% (most predictions never leave the dashboard). VOS™ operators run at 70-85% because the friction between signal and action is stripped out.

The immediate operator benefit is fewer roadside failures and fewer tow-truck calls. The compound benefit is that the maintenance record per vehicle becomes clean enough to price a resale, negotiate a lease renewal, or contest a warranty claim with the manufacturer.
