How Intellitech VOS™ handles hydrogen fleet telemetry

Hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) are entering commercial service in Latin America first through pilots — cargo trucks in Chile and Colombia, city buses in Costa Rica, refuse collection in São Paulo. For fleet operators, the immediate question is not whether hydrogen works, but whether their fleet software can even see it.

A hydrogen FCEV exposes signals that legacy telematics does not have a column for: tank pressure (typically 350 bar or 700 bar), stack current, cooling system state, purge cycles, and consumption in kilograms per 100 km rather than litres or kilowatt-hours. Legacy platforms either drop these fields, jam them into unrelated columns, or force operators to run a parallel spreadsheet.

The maintenance agent treats stack degradation as a first-class failure mode, not an unknown fault code.

For operators piloting hydrogen today, this matters because the pilot has to be measurable against the rest of the fleet. If you cannot compare cost per tonne-kilometre of an FCEV against your diesel baseline in the same tool, the pilot cannot inform a fleet-wide decision.
